Information Systems Frontiers: Aim & Scope

Journal Orientation

The orientation of ISF is inspired by the model of research activities in the IS/IT area described in figure 1.

The people who perform the research constitute the heart of this process. Their efforts are motivated by the problems and requirements of the user world and facilitated by the tools and techniques of IS/IT and various intersecting disciplines. The results of these efforts are solutions both generalizable and specific, and advancements to the underlying technology. Using this model as a basis, the overall orientation of ISF is described in figure 2. This orientation specifically addresses three persistent and growing needs in the IS/IT area: integration of research with practice, focal attention on the cross-fertilization of ideas occurring across disciplines and adequate and appropriate Internet support for effective information exchange and interaction.
